A great idea from reddit:
We had great success once with a search-and-rescue campout. The troop were taught first aid skills and navigation skills, and when it came time for the weekend the “senior scout patrol” laid out a search area and then scattered themselves in the woods as “victims” with fake injuries. The actual youth leaders got to run the search while the senior scouts had a great time being involved and pretending they had things like “really bad gout”. (Note: I suggest giving some guidance on realistic injuries/illnesses.)
